The Mist by Stephen King
Releasing worldwide November 21, 2007, The Mist by Stephen King is highly anticipated as every movie based on his books are. Ones not made for TV, but make it to the big screen are even more anticipated than the made for TV movies and mini-series’ he has become so well known for like The Stand and Tommyknockers.
By far, my favorite Stephen King movie is The Shining. That movie is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion. Scary, creepy, and fantastic acting from Jack Nicholson. Seeing the blood flowing down the halls, his head through the door, or the little girls in the hall always gives me chills years later when I see the film.
The Mist is another big time movie coming out from Stephen King this month and should be another startling scene that we all have come to love and expect from the author. Anyone write more books than this guy? Then make them all at least interesting to read? It’s crazy how talented he is.
Anyways, The Mist is another of his books that has made it to the screen. After a violent storm attacks a town in Maine, an approaching cloud of mist appears the next morning. As the mist quickly envelops the area, a group of people get trapped in a local grocery store -among them, artist David Drayton and his five-year-old son. These people come to realize that the Mist is not only a sort of strange fog, but inside the Mist are strange creatures. some think they are from nearby military base experiments, but one thing is for sure they are dangerous and they may not get out alive.
I’ve had this short story on my iPod before as an audiobook and it is indeed very creepy. Seeing how the create the creature portrayed in this story with a big budget production crew is going to be amazing.
