Valerie Begue Cross Pic Won’t Cost Her Miss France

Valerie Begue got herself into a bit of trouble recently when she had a “racy” photo published in an Entertainment mag. Miss France will not lose her crown, however for the photo, but she will not be participating int he Miss Universe, or Miss World pageants.

This photo is far from pornographic, or even racy for that matter. It is simply just offensive to those that are in the religious majority. Photos published in Entrevue magazine last week included one of a bikini-clad Begue lying on a cross in a swimming pool and another of her licking what appeared to be yogurt or evaporated milk. So is it the fact she is on the cross, or that it is offensive she is licking a white milky substance? Certainly it isn’t as pretty as wearing some nice wholesale fashion jewelry in a pic, but really are we that politically correct now that she can’t lay on a cross? Don’t even get me started on this.

So here is the “racy” pic. Don’t go nuts on me for posting this. I know it is soooo offensive…

Singer Dan Fogelberg Dies of Cancer

Legendary musician, Dan Fogelberg died Sunday, three years after being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. He was 56.

“He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side,” said a posting on his Web site http://www.danfogelberg.com

“His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.”

After graduating from Woodruff High School in 1969, he studied theater arts and painting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under a private student loan and began performing as a solo acoustic player in area coffeehouses. There, he was discovered in 1971 by Irving Azoff. Fogelberg and Azoff, who started his music-management career promoting another Illinois act, REO Speedwagon, moved to California to seek their fortunes. Fogelberg became a session musician who played with pop-folk artists like Van Morrison. In 1972, he released his debut album Home Free to lukewarm response. His second effort was much more successful: the 1974 Joe Walsh-produced album Souvenirs and its hit song “Part of the Plan” made him a major star. For more on Fogelberg’s Career click here

McLovin’s License Gets ‘Superbad’ Pulled

The comedy “Superbad” had a bit of interesting memorabilia in it that they decided to put into the DVD release as a promo item. One of the characters had a fake Hawaii ID that they tried to use to buy liquor in the movie with the name “McLovin” on it. So when the DVD was released this copy of the ID was included with the DVD.

Unfortunately for residents of Hawaii, the mayor has had Walmart pull the DVD off the shelves until the ID is taken from the package because the ID could be used to deceive stupid merchants. Yes…people would actually fall for this I guarantee it. You would be shocked to see some of the fake IDs I got away with when I was underage. I’m a white guy and I could get away with using a name like Patek Philippe to buy booze. Hell…I even had an ID that one of my other friends tried to use, but the merchant plucked off the terrible glued in date. Then later I went to the same store and bought with out the date even being there. I white spot where the date should have been!

Madonna Gets Into Rock Hall of Fame

The Material Girl is about to become a Hall of Famer. The ever-evolving Madonna was announced as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee on Thursday along with John Mellencamp , The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave Clark Five.

“The 2008 inductees are trailblazers – all unique and influential in their genres,” Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President and CEO Joel Peresman said in a statement. “From poetry to pop, these five acts demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself.”

To be eligible, artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination.

Of the nominations Madonna, Mellencamp, and Cohen are the only ones I’ve really ehard of. Cohen only because he wrote the them to The Sopranos. I actually met Mellencamp at a Las Vegas hotel quite a few years back, but I’ve always liked him. Great collection of music.
