Paul Newman died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.

Newman was an Academy award winning star in many classic films. Some of the most memorable Newman classics include “Cool Hand Luke”, “The Sting”, “Hud”, “the Color of Money”, and the cult comedy classic “Slapshot”.

Newman started in theater before taking the moving services and heading to hollywood where he would have a 50 year career and marriage. He would often team with wife and fellow Oscar winner, Joanne Woodward, with whom he had one of Hollywood’s rare long-term marriages. “I have steak at home, why go out for hamburger?” Newman told Playboy magazine when asked if he was tempted to stray.

They wed in 1958, around the same time they both appeared in “The Long Hot Summer,” and Newman directed her in several films, including “Rachel, Rachel” and “The Glass Menagerie.”

In an update just minutes ago, TMZ is reporting that Travis Barker was willing to do anything short of trying to buy the moon to get his assistant Cris Baker to his wife.

Travis Barker’s assistant wanted to get home in time for his pregnant wife to give birth.

We’ve now learned why Barker and his friends decided to get on that doomed Learjet in South Carolina late last night, and the explanation can only be described as a horribly cruel twist of fate.

It all started some time yesterday, when Barker’s assistant, Chris Baker, told the guys that his wife was going into labor. Barker told him that he would do everything in his power to get Baker back to the hospital in time.

The quickest way back to Van Nuys was that Learjet. We’re told Barker usually won’t fly on private jets, but made an exception for what was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of Baker’s life.

The plane crashed shortly after midnight, killing four people — including Chris Baker. Baker’s wife went into labor early this morning.

Terrible, terrible story. What should have been the best day of their lives turns into one of the worst. Having their baby born the day his father dies is just heart breaking.

Don’t know how many of you had heard about this (I didn’t when it happened), but yesterday Travis Barker and DJ AM were passengers on plane that crashed, critically injuring them and killing four others. The plane carrying six people attempted to take off shortly before midnight Friday from Columbia, South Carolina when people in the tower report seeing sparks. They said the plane went off the runway and crashed on a highway embankment, catching fire.

Barker, and DJ AM were said to be in critical condition after the crash, although the worst of it was that the other four passengers died.

Today it is reported that both DJ AM, and Travis Barker, ex-drummer for the band Blink 182, will have full recoveries. Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, said both Travis and Adam suffered second and third-degree burns. Mullins said Barker’s torso and Adam’s hands and part of his head were burned, but they will be OK.

The people at TMZ are using their treadmills experience to try and run down the rest of the story with their patented “story developing” line at the end.

Making her name from the Disney Show, Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has decided that the show just isn’t for her anymore. According to cast and crew of the show, her and her father Billy Ray Cyrus have been trying to get booted from the show lately so that she can spend more time doing music.

Well at least that is what TMZ wants you to believe. They are saying that they believe there is more money in music and that they are ready to move on. So much so that they are willing to forgo their contract and skip the final 12 episodes?

On top of that there is a movie deal in the works with Miley and Disney is there not? Some Nicholas Sparks novel based movie? Why would they be pissing in the hand that feeds them right now? Hard not to call shenanigans on this story. Hopefully Miley has been getting smart and learning about online trading , or has a decent money guy because this kind of thing isn’t going to help her career any.

Anyone actually care about this show anyways? Doubt it even lasts a year to be honest. I think these guys all have the right idea in not wanting to associate with the new show. They would be better off giving diet pill reviews on infomercials than jumpiing back into those roles.

When asked if a reference to Dylan on the show meant he would make an appearance, Luke Perry replied cryptically.

“They own the name and likeness,” he told a reporter, referring to the ’90210′ creators.

When pressed if that meant yes or no, the actor finally relented. “That would be a no.”

Gary Coleman is being sued by Colt Rushton, 24, of Spanish Fork, who claims that Coleman punched him and then hit him with his truck at a bowling alley. Rushton claims that he and Coleman got into an argument Sept. 6 after he began taking pictures

Coleman, 40, was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and disorderly conduct in Payson City Justice Court.

The lawsuit contends Rushton was attacked from behind by Rohbock or Coleman’s wife, Shannon Price, and that his cell phone was taken away. The lawsuit also contends Coleman punched Rushton in the chest several times.

“He’s saying, ‘Gary, you can leave, I’m sorry, I’ll delete the pictures, just please give me my phone back,”’ Lance said.

Dude probably had a lot of tunes on his phone’s MP3 players. That would certainly suck if someone jacked that. Of course getting hit by a truck would too.

The lawsuit said Coleman wouldn’t return the phone, and that Coleman hit Rushton and a car as he was trying to leave the parking lot.

“The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial,” McCain advisor Carly Fiorina told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Monday. “I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes I would say sexist.”

Although we all know about her religious views, they haven’t really been beat on yet.

“Just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance. She has a lot of substance,” Fiorina said.

Keeping with the recent lies of the MCCain campaign Palin says she enjoyed the show, although she has already admitted that she didn’t even have the volume up when she watched it.

“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” Palin spokesperson Tracey Schmitt told CBS.

I couldn’t tell you what song she won an award for…well i could, but I couldn’t tell you that I had ever heard of it. A the MTV Video Music Awards yesterday, Britney Spears came out and won 3 awards to lead everyone. LOL…what the hell? Spears won a leading three awards, including video of the year for “Piece of Me.” She also looked like she had hit the diet pill lately as she wasn’t a complete cow.

In each acceptance speech Sunday, Spears spoke briefly, thanked God and dedicated the awards to her fans. Even while opening the show, she was all business, zipping through her few lines of introduction.
