Tiger Woods Fiasco Cost Shareholders Up to $12 Billion

According to a study by two economics professors from the University of California, Davis, companies that Tiger Woods endorses may have lost shareholders up to $12 Billion.

While Tiger is still the best golfer in the world, the recent sex scandals have put his reputation into a bit of a free fall. Saying that he has cost a lot of people money is probably enough reason for him to consider picking up some new term life insurance quotes online.

The study, released on Monday by researchers Victor Stango and Christopher Knittel, gave an estimate for damage to the market value of Woods’ main sponsors caused by revelations of alleged extramarital affairs that surfaced after he was involved in a minor car accident outside his Florida home on November 27.

“We estimate that shareholders of Tiger Woods’ sponsors lost $5-12 billion after his car accident, relative to shareholders of firms that Mr. Woods does not endorse,” the researchers wrote, adding that millions of shareholders were affected.

“Our analysis makes clear that while having a celebrity of Tiger Woods’ stature as an endorser has undeniable upside, the downside risk is substantial, too,” Stango, a professor at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, said in a statement released along with the study.

Woods, believed to be the world’s wealthiest athlete who was estimated to earn about $100 million a year in endorsement deals before his troubles, confessed on December 11 to “infidelity” to his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren. He announced he would take an indefinite break from golf to save his marriage.

Documentary on Michael Jackson’s Doctor Coming

You know people have about as little imagination as you yourself can imagine when we hear about a documentary covering a guy like this.

Dr. Conrad Murray accused of everything except maybe being an advocate for identity theft protection may be the subject of a new documentary.

When Michael Jackson’sembattled personal physician returned to work last month, cameras were rolling.

Miranda Sevcik, a spokeswoman for Dr. Conrad Murray, confirms that a British documentary crew chronicled his first day back at a Houston clinic for the poor. Murray returned to the clinic Nov. 23 and was greeted by several patients and his pastor.

Murray remains under investigation for his role in Jackson’s June 25 death. No charges have been filed, but investigators are looking into whether Murray improperly administered the pop superstar the powerful anesthetic propofol.

Jersey Shore Controversial, and Selling

Doesn’t take a genius to realize that when crazy stuff happens on a TV “reality” show it will probably get watched more. Every time I look at the front page of the Google Entertainments News page there is at least one story about some bleeding heart complaining about the Jersey Shore. Not because they are jealous that the women are hot (I’m sure some are) and probably scarf down slimming pill, but because they do things that are unacceptable in what is called a “reality TV show”.

Of course it is always followed by something along these lines:

Jersey Shore Ratings up 50%

People will never learn. I guess they have learned. Complaining publicly about any form of media, be it video games, TV, or movies will get you your picture int he paper if you have ever done ANYTHING relevant in your life. Politicians spend more time doing this I think sometimes than they do actually doing their jobs.

Right now there are all kinds of controversies with the show like the use of the word “Guido”, the “Sucker Punch” video clip, and anything else you can bunch your panties up about.

Hugh Hefner on Tiger Woods

This whole Tiger Woods thing is out of control. I think what Hefner has to say is probably about as accurate as anyone since he shoots straight.

Hugh Hefner wasn’t surprised one bit when he heard about allegations of Tiger Woods cheating on his wife.

“I think the only surprise in it, quite frankly, is that anybody would be surprised,” the Playboy mogul tells me exclusively. “If you’re a good-looking guy and young and healthy, the notion that there would be something else going on, well, marriage is just a convenience.

“It’s very nice for raising kids,” he adds, “but the notion that monogamy lasts forever is a wish!”
—–

OK…agree with him, or not, this is way more accurate than all the whiners about a guy like Tiger Woods. These guys live in a completely different world than you and I. MOST celebs like this are free to do whatever the hell they want. Bang as many women as they want. The wife just doesn’t complain openly about it.

I’m not sure what anyone thought when Tiger actually married the woman he did, but I’m pretty sure he married her strictly because she was hot as hell (This can be verified by how many guys probably have a bit of laptop memory dedicated to her pictures), and he needed a wife to pump out some kids. Men that are this successful, and have the world at their feet just don’t care about this kind of thing most of the time. They have everything that a NANNY would ever want. Money and fame.

Reports say that his wife has moved out of the house, and that Tiger may be a sex addict…LMFAO (of course he is. HE is a GUY). So…anyone actually think she gets a divorce? She has 2 options here. Keep on the gravy train, or hop off and try to become a celebrity simply by raping Tiger of half his money. Anyone doubt that Tiger doesn’t have a huge pre-nupt agreement in place? If he does she isn’t going anywhere. Trust me.

Oh and for anyone that makes sports stars, or movie actors their heroes, you have way more problems than Tiger does.

How Dumb Are Twilight Fans?

You would think that these rabid Twilight fans would know everything there is about Twilight wouldn’t you? Apprently their rabid fanboy/girlism is so blinding that they are ripe to scammers.

It appears that all those people dumb enough to sign up for Twilight news via e-mail, or frequent message boards about Twilight (people really do this?), have started to find out that they aren’t going to get to appear in the next movie, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Scam e-mails were being sent to many Twilight fans that claimed to be a way for them to appear int he next movie. That is if they have a good enough rack mount ;) .

Fraudulent e-mails announcing casting calls for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” have been flooding the inboxes of fans across the country, according to The Casting Scoop.

“First of all, I knew it wasn’t credible because ‘Breaking Dawn’ doesn’t go into production for several months, so no casting director would have been hired yet,” says casting director Lana Veenker, who handled Northwest casting on the first “Twilight” film. “Also, the shoot location hasn’t even been announced! How would anyone even know which city or country to be casting in?” (wow she sounds brilliants…dar)

The e-mails implore those who are interested in walk-on parts to apply immediately with impending deadlines, promising that no experience is necessary and pay ranges from $80-250, depending on the role.

In addition, Veenker discovered that bogus casting call advertisements (which take advantage of search engine keywords) have been appearing on “Twilight” fan sites everywhere. She tracked down the company responsible and learned that they had an “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau…LOL

“People who take advantage of kids like this, who prey on their hopes and dreams, truly raise my ire,” she said in a statement released to Access. “I get thousands of letters and e-mails from ‘Twilight’ fans who would do just about anything for a walk-on part in one of the sequels. It scares me to think of what the low-lives out there could do to hurt such easy targets.”
