To 3D, or Not to 3D

As the 3D market becomes more and more prevalent, there are as many critics, as there are of people that want it. The main concern for most is the jump in ticket prices as more and more films are either being converted, or made in 3D. This is only a temporary thing I would guess. These films won’t do that well forever I don’t think anyways, although ticket prices will go up regardless.

Of course a lot of people are in the mode of: “3-D is just a stupid gimmick”, so the increased prices are even more of a reason to dismiss the quality. From the talk of getting 3-D on everything from cell phones to digital cameras in the future this isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Overall, the reaction to the conversions has been pretty good from everything I have read. I don’t think the average viewer can tell the difference at this point. “clash of the Titans”, (A childhood favorite of mine), was a conversion after the remake was already completed. Most say that it looks good, and that the computer generated stuff you can’t tell the difference.

Who knows how many have actually seen a 3-D movie before this in the new styles though.
