Billy Ray Cyrus is super-protective of Miley (Hannah Montana)

“When I see people taking pictures of my little girl I usually try to roll down the window and get a picture of them. I just want to know who is stalking my family,” he said.

That is a quote from an interview with “Access Hollywood” this week with Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter, Miley. Miley as you all know is the infamous Hannah Montana. Tickets to her shows are treated as if she were a Beatle and parents are acting like children to get them so they can spoil their kids and not have to spend actual family time with them, but I digress. Whatever happened to just giving them designer jewelry, or a teddy bear? I guess they probably do that too.

“I’ll go knock on the window and say, ‘I just wanted to see your face because you are taking pictures of my little girl, you know, just in case.’”

“If I have to hunt you down and kill you, then I know what you look like,” Miley added, finishing her dad’s sentence.

More of this tantalizing interview can be read here as you can see that Billy Ray is quite protective.

John Mayer Tells Ex-Girlfriend to ‘Move On’

On his blog, John Mayer left a note to presumably one of his ex-lovers recently. A cry for her to just leave him alone and that it was completely over. Man, you gotta love that kind of kiss off. Thanks for the inspiration John. I believe I will break up with my next lover via a blog.

“Perhaps you didn’t understand the last time I told you to stop contacting me, so I’ll do my best to spell it out for you. I do not wish to have you in my life anymore,” Mayer wrote.

“I don’t know how much more clear I can be about it. It would serve you best to move on with your life and find someone who can put up with you, because I’m done trying,” he added.

AOL has a stupid poll up asking who you think it was. Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Minka Kelly, or some other girl that is now looking for plus size clothing because of her great depression. The 3 mentioned are ex-lovers of his so they are just taking a leap of faith and guessing it is one of them.

Singer Dan Fogelberg Dies of Cancer

Legendary musician, Dan Fogelberg died Sunday, three years after being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. He was 56.

“He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side,” said a posting on his Web site http://www.danfogelberg.com

“His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.”

After graduating from Woodruff High School in 1969, he studied theater arts and painting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under a private student loan and began performing as a solo acoustic player in area coffeehouses. There, he was discovered in 1971 by Irving Azoff. Fogelberg and Azoff, who started his music-management career promoting another Illinois act, REO Speedwagon, moved to California to seek their fortunes. Fogelberg became a session musician who played with pop-folk artists like Van Morrison. In 1972, he released his debut album Home Free to lukewarm response. His second effort was much more successful: the 1974 Joe Walsh-produced album Souvenirs and its hit song “Part of the Plan” made him a major star. For more on Fogelberg’s Career click here

Romantics in Guitar Hero Legal Battle

Unless you have been living under a rock the last few years you have probably heard of the game, Guitar Hero, which let’s anyone who can’t actually play a guitar feel like they can. The Romantics have decided to sue Activision Inc., the maker of “Guitar Hero,” saying the popular video game infringes on the band’s rights by featuring a soundalike recording of its 1980 hit “What I Like About You.”

The song is one of about 30 songs featured on “Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the ’80s.” The band also is seeking an injunction that could take the best-selling game off store shelves. Which isn’t going to happen, because they will get paid off like they want anyways. I love how bands can sue for songs that sound sort of like their own and then get rewarded for it. Yeah…this is a rip-off, but changed enough that they can’t claim it can they? LOL

Just keep your eyes on your ebel watches as this is sure to be taken care of in a timely matter. </sarchasm>

Also, It is probably a good idea to snag this game right now isn’t it since it could be taken off shelves and be worth a bit of cash? I’m not saying it will be, but Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the ’80s may very well have a nice history in the years to come if you can get it with that song on it still. Kind of like the old “Hot Coffee” edition of GTA. That one was worth about twice it’s retail value when it got pulled when it was sold on Ebay immediately after.

Hannah Montana to Appear at Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show

The Houston Livestock Rodeo has just gotten a big boost of press to the younger generation since we will now see Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana at the Houston Rodeo. Miley Cyrus, the star of TV’s Hanah Montana Show on the Disney channel has decided that she will attend the major event this year. The series focuses on Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus), who lives a double life as an average teenage girl at school during the day and a famous pop singer, Hannah Montana, at night, concealing her real identity from the public other than her close friends and family.

The Houston Rodeo however, is always a great experience that features major artists who perform their music at shows. I was supposed to go with my boys last year and see one of my favorites John Fogerty perform. He’s one of those guys that used to be in Credence Clearwater Revival in case you are a complete music newbie. They wrote tons of classics you have surely heard in many movies like “Bad Moon Rising”, Rollin’ on a River”, etc. Anyways, I got jerked around at work and ended up having to stay home instead of going to this bad ass experience. This is basically the biggest rodeo in the world and they bring in probably over a million people every year. Best yet, they know how to party down there so it is one hell of a time…at least that is what I got to hear about for close to a month after my friends got back.

This year I guess Miley Cyrus, or Hannah Montana as she is probably known better, is going to be hanging out this year. Should be interesting to see what kind of crowd she attracts. Miley Cyrus, is definitely much more well known by the younger generation so there may be quite a few yonger fans at the rodeo. Pretty cool though since this should be an amazing experience for them and one they will never forget. Maybe they will even become big rodeo fans since they are going to gget to take part in it so young. Definitely not a bad thing.

Led Zeppling Songs to be Available Digitally

One of the greatest rock bands ever. Period. They have always insisted that their music would not be available online for purchase, but that has changed.

Led Zeppelin’s decision to sell its music online coincides with the end of a fierce bidding war over the rights to administer the band’s catalog of songs, which includes the classics “Stairway to Heaven” and “Rock and Roll.” Under a separate deal the band is to receive an estimated $60 million in exchange for extending its ties to its longtime music publisher, Warner/Chappell Music, for at least 10 years, said three people briefed on the agreement, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they had not been authorized to discuss it. Good old “anonymous” sources. What would the news be with out them?

Of course their music has always been online, but in the form of the free file sharing programs originally made popular by the great program known as Napster. So I guess they have finally decided to take advantage of probably the biggest music market there is these days and sell their music online. About damn time. You would be foolish not to utilize this medium to sell your music instead of letting everyone just download it for free.

Zepplin is having a reunion concert in London on November 26th of this year and it will be the first time they have performed since the band broke up back in 1980 after the death of its drummer, John Bonham. The Nov. 26 concert, which is to benefit Mr. Ertegun’s educational charity, also coincides with the release of an expansive two-disc hits collection.

Courtney Love is Auctioning off Cobain’s Legacy

Courtney Love, who is auctioning off the belongings of her late husband, Kurt Cobain, says she’s talked to his mother about also clearing out his childhood possessions.

“I love his mother but she has been taken advantage of in my opinion and from now on, after our discussion today, she will be repped by proper lawyers,” Love, 42, writes on her Web site.

“[When] people approach her for his childhood things she can maximize her income in these transactions,” adds Love.

Willie Nelson spared jail time on pot charge

Good old Willie. Gotta love how the guy only gets 6 months while an average Joe like me would get 2 years of probation for such an offense if I was lucky. Especially with the shrooms hanging around the scene. I’d probably be rotting away in a cell and it would be considered I was trying to distribute the drugs.

willie nelson

Willie Nelson and his tour manager were spared jail time Tuesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession.

Nelson and tour manager David Anderson, along with Nelson’s sister, Bobbie Nelson, and two drivers, were issued citations on Sept. 18 after state troopers said they found marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms on the country legend’s tour bus during a commercial-vehicle inspection on Interstate 10.

State District Judge Paul deMahy fined Nelson and Anderson $1,024 each and put both on probation for six months. As part of a plea agreement, the citation against Bobbie Nelson was dismissed. full story

The Doors Get Star on Walk of Fame

WhooHoo! I’m sure most people notice that I’m a HUGE Doors fan. Well this is a great day to be one. The Doors’ keyboardist Ray Manzarek, 68, and guitarist Robby Krieger, 61, showed up minus drummer John Densmore for the dedication of the walk’s 2,325th star.

This band is just great. The music is like no other in my opinion. Their mix of instruments and the dark feel of it is just revolutionary for their time and it has transcended generations.

“Jim always used to say: The West is the best!” Krieger said. “It has been an incredible 40 years, and now I’m back with Ray and we’re still playing, and you know, it may never end.”

Still a great show with out Jim around if you get a chance to catch them Live. They aren’t allowed to call themselves the Doors anymore, but anyone that is a fan isn’t going to call them any different. Even though Jim is the man everyo0ne remembers the real fans still love Ray, Robby, and John and give them credit for the unique sound.
