Two people I care almost nothing about got together this evening to discus some project Phoenix was involved in where he lied about trying to become a rapper in a documentary.

Apparently people thought he had gone off the deep end and was losing it and needing some acne body wash. Frankly, I don’t know who the hell this guy is, other than maybe hearing a vague mention of his name at some point. I wouldn’t know him if you showed me a picture.

“I mean, I think that you’ve interviewed many, many people and I assumed that you would know the difference between a character and a real person,” he says about the now-infamous 2009 interview, in which a gum-chomping, mumbling Phoenix barely answered Letterman’s questions. “I hope I didn’t offend you in any way.”

The appearance turned out to be an act. Director Casey Affleck recently revealed Phoenix’s supposed documentary, I’m Still Here, which followed the actor during that strange time, isn’t real.

“Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no,” Letterman told him. “I’m telling you, it was so much fun. It was batting practice, you know what I mean? Every one of them was a dinger.”

Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, filed for a restraining order Friday, accusing Gibson of being “extremely violent” with her.

The order is a domestic violence restraining order against Gibson obtained during an emergency court hearing Monday in Los Angeles. Details of her accusations were not disclosed. The order was amended Tuesday to allow Gibson to visit the couple’s 7-month-old daughter, Lucia.

Gibson turned around and asked for one of his own to prevent her from reportedly releasing information about the case or trying to block his access to their daughter. Gibson and Grigorieva share joint custody of Lucia, but no longer anything else it appears including a Canon camera.

Gibson’s entourage claims the accusations are ridiculous and based on an incident that happened in January while the two were traveling together, and that she kept traveling with him afterward.

I think Mel is gonna have a hard time convincing the public that he isn’t abusive, but hey I’ll give him a chance to deny it. It’s pretty sad how much people really HATE Gibson after his disparaging comments towards Jews a couple years ago. In fact if you go to any movie of his on IMDb.com you will see the debate on every single movie board there. It’s rather sad really.

The Beatles tune from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, sold for $1.2 million this week. John Lennon’s autographed lyrics for “A Day in the Life” was a double-sided single sheet of paper written in Lennon’s hand including cross-outs and corrections, and chronicles the evolution of one of the most famous musical masterpieces by the Beatles.

The guy that sold it was unidentified American collector, but he originally purchased the lyrics for $93,000 in 1992 at another auction. The lyrics, once owned by Mal Evans, the Beatles’ road manager, exceeded Sotheby’s estimates of $500,000 to $700,000.

Nice little profit for something you held for 18 years. I’m sure he’s not having any need of a treatment of eczema with all the cash he got.

This is a really weird story. Not sure what to make of it really at all. A 9-year-old girl who went to the hospital in central Greece suffering from stomach pains was found to be carrying her embryonic twin, doctors said Thursday.

“They could see on the right side that her belly was swollen, but they couldn’t suspect that this tumor would hide an embryo,” hospital director Iakovos Brouskelis said.

The girl has made a full recovery, he said. So no double pay for car insurance for her when she learns to drive .

Andreas Markou, head of the hospital’s pediatric department, said the embryo was a formed fetus with a head, hair and eyes, but no brain or umbilical cord.

Markou said cases where one of a set of twins absorbs the other in the womb occurs in one of 500,000 live births.
